Meet Our Administrator

Peggy Smith

I am honored to serve the Lord as the ACS Administrator.  I'm blessed to have taught elementary at ACS for many years before before assuming a leadership position.  

 Ames Christian is a member of Association of Christian School International (ACSI). We are starting the process of achieving ACSI Accreditation.  ACS provides “Personalized Christian Education" from a Biblical Worldview perspective through gifted, mentoring Christian teachers, in a safe, disciplined learning environment to the children and families of Ames and the surrounding communities. We strive to make every child feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed and grow emotionally, socially, academically, and spirtually.  Our student body represents many church denominations. 

ACS offers a full day Preschool/Childcare and half day Preschool program for three and four year old children.  We also offer a five day afternoon Early Kindergarten program. Our Early Childhood is licensed by the state with a four star QRS (Quality Rating System) rating.  The nurturing staff strives to meet the needs of the whole child. 

Our outstanding Kindergarten through seventh grade school provides academic excellence in a safe, disciplined learning environment. We encourage students to become lifelong learners and strive to equip them to think, learn, discern, and act according to Biblical truth in order to embrace and fulfill God's unique purpose for their lives. Teachers model and infuse Biblical truth throughout the curriculum and activities at school. Students also participate in music, art, computer skills, chapel, and physical education classes. We also offer an afterschool Spanish Club once a week through "The Language Project-Kids", a Spanish immersion program. Parents are an integral part of our school's success.

We intentionally equip students with a Biblical Worldview and help them recognize the other worldview that will vie for their attention. It's essential students are prepared to be salt and light and ready to interact with, influence, and serve others who don't see the world through the lens of Scripture.

My family is another great joy in my life. My devoted husband, Mac, and I have been married for forty two  years. We have been blessed with three married children and seven grandsons who currently live close by. We are passionate about mentoring and enjoying our grandsons by spending quality time together.
